Censorship Sucks!

not-listeningLet me start by saying that I'm against censorship in any form and that includes television. There are enough channels for everyone to watch what they want and not encroach on other people's freedom to watch what they want. If you don't want your child to see some things on TV, then set an example and don't let them watch or stand up and be a parent and watch it when they aren't around.

I was raised Baptist and though I don't go to church, I'm a believer and I watch my P's and Q's pretty much for that meeting at the pearly gates. I, also, believe that religious folk need to walk the walk a little more and quit talking so much and the same could go for the non-believers. Each side seems to have a fear that the other side is too dangerous, in even the generalist of ways. Yes, there are extremists in every religion, but Joe Christian that lives next door isn’t evil and neither is Max the atheist that runs the corner market. Basically, learn to live together and quit worrying about the other guys beliefs.

That being said, I was watching a movie the other night and through the whole thing there was only one word that might have been bleepable; a**.  It didn't get bleeped and that was fine with me, the kid wasn't in the room. What did get bleeped was the word “Christ,” from the phrase, “for Christ’s sake.”

My question is this, did they bleep it for the Christians who consider that blasphemy or did they bleep it for the atheists who do not want to hear that word, period? Your thoughts?
