The Earth hasn't known true silence in hundreds of millions of years. Since the first creatures formed in the oceans and splashed water, there's always been some kind of sound.
Even now, living out in the country, sitting here on the patio, you can hear the murmur of the cars passing by, it sounds like there's a motor running somewhere in the distance, almost like a fan is running.
Even in my own head, I have alittle high-pitched ringing in my eard, that reminds me of what the background noise of the universe must sound like.
I wonder what it feels like to actually hear true silence?
